Our Story
CB NDT was founded in 1984 by Heinz Cordes. Heinz immigrated to Canada in 1964 and began his NDT career in 1966.
Heinz first began working for Contract Inspection Services a subsidiary of North American Inspection services in Toronto & Oakville. In 1973 he became NDT manager with NDE service group. Then, in 1984, Heinz decided to take all his experience and start his own NDT company - and CB NDT was born!
Things grew quickly for Heinz and his newly formed company, acquiring Cathcart Inspection services and Magnaflux Quality Services (the only Canadian Magnaflux service company in Canada). These numerous acquisitions brought great opportunity to foster a strong business ethic centered on servicing all clients with the highest degree of professionalism and quality. This customer-centric way of doing business is woven into everything CB does, both then, and today.
The third generation is now working for CB, extending the legacy of this family-owned business. VP & GM, Mike Cordes believes that a team is only as strong as their weakest link. That's why CB employs some of the best NDT professionals and technicians in the industry, positioning them as a leader in the NDT space.
CB was created on the foundation that building strong relationships with clients was paramount to running a successful business. That same philospohy remains true today and CB's customer-centric approach to business continues to set them apart.
